Life is Good!
Only because I am a spirit filled Christian. Care to read on?
Heaven or Hell?
I was 24 years old when I became a Christian. Before that I was a drinker, a drug taker, and my moral standards were not very high. I didn't think my life was that bad, but I had big questions — I wanted to know what life was about. What happens when you die? One day a friend of mine preached the gospel message of salvation to me — You must be born again! John 3:7. Huh?
I had never thought about this whole 'God' thing, but at least I wasn't willingly ignorant of what I was hearing. I was asked the question, What if it's true? Well I was honest with myself — if I needed to do something to 'get saved' and I didn't then I would be held wholly responsible. If there is a hell, then I don't want to go there. So I started my search to see if there was a God.
Signs, Wonders and Miracles
On Tuesday November 10th 1998 I went to a meeting at The Revival Fellowship where I heard a lot of good stuff. I heard testimonies of people being healed, in fact, I sat next to a lady who had an amazing healing. She had a severe skin disorder (she showed me photos — not nice) but she was right there before my eyes completely whole with no scars. I was impressed.
I ended up getting baptised the next day (Remembrance Day) and I was instantly healed from my drinking and drug taking — God took away the desire for them, and I have never done them since. Within a few weeks God filled me with the Holy Spirit Acts 2:38 and I know that happened because I spoke in tongues Mark 16:17.
Since my conversion I have witnessed many things. I prayed with a man who was instantly healed from an addiction to cigarettes — he had smoked for 40 years. When I was in PNG I saw a man who was paralyzed and sitting in a wheelchair get baptised, and after I watched him walk (see my photos). There are people in our fellowship who have been healed from cancer, heart disease, arthritis, quadraplegia, asthma, glaucoma, blindness, infertility, raised from the dead ... and the list goes on. God is a miracle working God.
God blesses my life every single day. I have been married and have a little baby girl, Twila. There is so much joy in my life — I thank the Lord for everything He's done for me and I hope never to be without Him. To top it all off, at the end of this life, there's the promise of eternal life — Praise the Lord.
What about you?
If you believe there is a God but you don't know what to do about it, or you don't know who to trust, then you should pray about it. Ask God for yourself where He is and what you should be doing to please Him. Then read the Bible, and check out these verses: John 3:1-8 / Acts 2:37-39 / Mark 16:15-20.
